 National Donut Day!🍩 In 1937 Krispy Kreme opened their doors in North Carolina, eventually to become the first large-scale doughnut franchise in the United States, followed by Dunkin' Doughnuts a few years later! 🍩 Though the doughnut recipe can be traced back to the mid-19th century, Vernon Rudolph's father, purchased the recipe from a Frenchman in Kentucky in 1936 and put Rudolph to work.
